1 mile of 8" Mainline

Yesterday we put 8" mainline hose on our HC16 for the first time. We laid 1 mile of it out at Harlan, with one piece remaining on the cart. Today we have two 6" mainlines feeding a 6NHTB 19 prototype booster pump (we call her Bertha).  She is feeding our mile of 8" mainline at 135 pounds of pressure.  At the end of that mile we have another booster pump feeding the applicator and today we're applying at 1850 GPM.  The use of 8" hose in this way is eliminating a booster pump and freeing up the person monitoring it....Ben

Another Day in Paradise

Things are going pretty well at the dairy near Harlan. We have 3.5 miles of hose laid out to a 120 acre field. Through good use of our hose humper over terraces and waterways we shouldn't have to make any additional hose sets and we're applying at 1450 GPM.  Feeding our applicator is a Redi-Prime® pump trailer at the site running at about 3/4 throttle with an additional 3 jump pumps all running on the conserative side under 180 psi of pressure because we're crossing 2 streams and passing through 2 culverts.  We have about 200 feet of vertical elevation change. Doing good...Ben

Fall Application

We have just begun fall application at a large 3,300 cow diary in Atlantic!  I'm using the auto steer in a John Deere® 9420 with the JD GreenStar 2® mapping system intergrated to our Krohne® flow meter. Auto steer helps minimize skips or gaps in my application and GS2 with a Krohne® flow meter helps with accurate application and records. Currently I'm applying at 1750 GPM... Jeremy

Fall Has Started!

We started pumping 2 days ago at a large 5,500 cow dairy. Things are going well, we're using a 6NHTB Cornell Redi-Prime® going into an 8" pipeline with approximately 120 PSI and 80' of vertical head pressure. Out of the pipeline we're feeding another Cornell® 6NHTB 19" concept pump hooked to a 375 HP 9L John Deere® engine.  This is running at about 1800 RPM and pulling about 7" of vacuum producing 1850 GPM with 160 PSI.  We are pushing that through 1/2 mile of 6" mainline to 6" drag hose....Ben

Redi-Prime

Just finished pumping a pond in Audubon County that beavers plugged up the inlet pipe. We removed 2.5 Million gallons of liquid at the rate of 2800 GALLONS PER MINUTE! Burt 5.7 gallons of fuel per hour, with 40 psi of outlet pressure, going through 150 ft. of 6" hose. We used a 6NHTB Redi-Prime® with a 9.0L 375 hp John Deere Tier 3® Engine running an impressive 1380 RPM. This is another use of our 6NHTB Redi-Prime® trailer...no problem....Ben

Welcome!

Welcome to our PCE blog. We are getting ready for a big fall season, and we're really looking forward to trying out a few of our new pieces of equipment. Through this blog we plan to share with you how they are working, our successes and frustrations, as we push to apply at higher, faster rates. Please feel free to share your thoughts and stories in response...
